December 2020
Plantspeed1

Heavy haulage specialist Plant Speed has transported what is believed to be the longest wind turbine blades ever moved by road in the UK. The blades, which each measure a total of 68.25m and weigh around 24 tonnes, were moved 24 miles from Avonmouth Dock to Magor, by three of the company’s 250-tonne Mercedes SLT tractor units pulling Nooteboom quatro extendable Super Wing Carriers. These Super Wing Carriers, type OVB-67-03V(QP), is a ground breaking innovation from Nooteboom and is still the leading transport solution for the transport of extreme long blades worldwide. Plant Speed has a huge fleet with mainly Nooteboom special trailers, including three Super Wing Carriers. Worldwide there are hundreds of Nooteboom Super Wing Carriers operational.
