Securing the load on open vehicles Basic VDI2700

Exceptional transport or abnormal transportapplies to loads that exceed the normal legal maximum dimensions and weights for a ‘normal’ transport. In this sector Nooteboom is a leader in innovating and manufacturingappropriate, high-quality solutionsfor the transport of abnormal loads.

The transport of abnormal loads with our advanced equipment requires a certain level of expertise and knowledge of the equipment, all the deviating regulatory requirements and of course a different style of driving on the road. The driver in open or abnormal transport must have expert knowledge and skills and always pay extra attention to the safe loading and unloading of rolling and crawling equipment. He must also take into consideration all the manufacturers’ conditions of use, the wishes of the machinery owners, inspection authorities and of course the vehicle and lashing provisions.

It is important to ensure the load is properly secured so that the load cannot shift or slide and can be transported without being damaged. Therefore extra attention is also paid to unloading and reloading part of a load. For example, if divisible loads of several items such as access platforms, telescopic handlers, units, vans etc. have to be delivered to various addresses.
