Marinka Nooteboom: Long term focus in special transport is of vital importance

April 2020

Standing up in a time when uncertainty is the only certainty is very challenging. A time that demands the upmost from us all. During this intense period we think it is very important that we keep in touch with each other. We do this internally by informing our employees on a weekly basis of what is going on in the market and within Nooteboom.

Externally it is also very important to inform our customers and suppliers and anyone associated with Nooteboom. We do this via our website, social media or via a mailing like this news update from the management.

Nooteboom has adapted its organisation from the outset when the first messages regarding the corona virus measures were communicated by the government, in such a way that we can guarantee the safety of our employees and that we can continue working within Nooteboom. This means that our sales department, our production, our service , our trailer delivery and spare parts are all operational. We would like to thank our suppliers for delivering the materials needed to keep our production flowing.

We have deliberately opted for a sustainable solution, partly because we expect that the current situation will not change quickly and we have to maintain this process for as long as needed. The investments we have made in our production facilities to create more flexibility and increase the agility of our employees, has proven to be an important factor in quickly adapting our organisation to the current conditions.

During this situation it is of vital importance to focus on the long term future and continue to work on the development of product innovations. With our long term focus we also have our own ideas of what the period after this crisis might look like and we would welcome the opportunity to discuss this in more detail with you.

Despite all the trouble, we also experience very positive results. We see our customers also have long term vison like us. Using this period for servicing or overhauling their trailers. This is reflected in the high level of parts orders and also in the interest for trailer service. Our sales department are successfully continuing to communicate with their customers via telephone, video calls and emailing. Using these methods we have closed numerous deals for new and used trailers worldwide.

Nooteboom is ready to help you in any way possible. If you need advice about our transport solutions, service, parts, or upcoming innovations, please do not hesitate to contact us.

On behalf of the entire Nooteboom organisation we would like to wish you all the best and hope you stay safe and well. We hope to speak or meet with you soon.

With kind regards,
Marinka Nooteboom
