‘For a production-engineer this is one big playground‘

‘During the last few years Nooteboom has been making an enormous effort to catch up. Substantial investments have been made in modernising the factory: the first welding robot is in use, two new press brakes are installed, and as the icing on the cake we recently welcomed the first laser cutter. For a production engineer Nooteboom is therefore a very interesting place to work in: it is one big playground where there is always something to do.’

‘At the moment I spend most of my time on the preparations for the arrival of a second welding robot. Our department also works more closely together with the engineering department.  As the link that connects engineering and production we keep a close eye on whether everything the engineers come up with is actually achievable. Because however wonderful the design put on a screen: if it cannot be made you’re not getting anywhere.’

‘Nooteboom is a family business and you notice it. There is an open atmosphere, with a flat organisational structure and a great team spirit among the colleagues. What’s also very nice is that you are given a lot of freedom to organise your own work as you see fit. Here they don’t just concentrate on the ‘cold’ figures; they pay attention to the people behind them. If you are up for it there are plenty of prospects and career opportunities. Which is great!’
